WOMEN FOR PEACE, 2005

Video Projection

TV news and newspapers are every day full of stories of war and armed conflicts around the world, which demand a lot of victims. At the same time it is a fact that every day more billions of dollars are being spent on rearming.

The artistic manifestation “WOMEN FOR PEACE” attempted to call attention to this absurd condition by putting the war into perspective and giving voice to reason.

30 women of different nationalities, age and background were sending a greeting to the citizens of Copenhagen on the International Women’s Day.

30 black and white portraits (30 x 30 m) were projected up on the DLG building at Nordhavn Station, and the portraits were accompanied by a series of factual texts, which made the basis for the womens demand for peace.

The projection took place march the 8th from 18.00 to 22.00 and could be experienced by travellers and waiting passengers from the platform of Nordhavn Station.
