Twelve monumental portraits of women aged 50-60 printed on transparent foil. The portraits hung in the ground floor windows and four-storey tower at the former Daells department store, on the corner of the streets Krystalgade and Fiolstræde in Copenhagen centre. Like fleeting reflections the women occupied urban space, defying the social invisibility women at their stage of life are often subject to.
There were sixty fluorescent tubes illuminating the installation, giving the work a metropolitan monumentality where the tower in particular became a luminous landmark – a lighthouse on the dark street.
The building and location in the heart of the city were temporarily transformed into an exhibition space.
